For many years, the sport of pure bred dogs has been my passion. I've loved it and hated it ... so, to every season, turn, turn, turn. Its a highly competitive sport with the *possibility* of instant gratification; but better yet, if you're lucky, long term friendships will be the biggest gratification one will enjoy forever from the sport of dogs. Acquaintances are plenty, they come and go but true friends will last forever.
The war 'machine' has become much more than metal used to conquer borders. We now have systematic torture and bacterial / viral warfare that is only second to the incessant practice of genocide. The numbers are available, yet the process rears its ugly head daily. We must begin to elect 'guardians' of our planet, not people who are supported most by large corporations and unions. We need to THINK. And I haev to say that I'm increasingly becoming disappointed at the actions/attitudes of people I've known in my past that I 'thought" were practicing their faith for the good of all but are exposing themselves along side the haters - the people I fear the most - the politicians on the right - the people who are lemmings, making fun of other religions, making fun of the suffering, making fun of God's children. I don't really think that's the type of personality that will gel with my aging years to bring peace. Watching some of the people I thought I knew allow trash on their social media sites that quite honestly are shameful...and I am embarrassed to see ANYONE supporting the right wing politicians of the day - if you want to call them that... Yes, my dear friends in the Bible belt - where have you gone? Why are you so mean? !!??
I believe in God, and I believe my life is much better now because of it. Curious, tolerant and accepting of other faiths, I am happy to live among others in harmony. I do not believe religion is what perpetuates war; instead, I believe people do that all on their own. I also will not judge you if you are not a believer because I know what it was like for me being agnostic - it is not the same for me now.
I am not of privilege, but consider myself rich from my daily blessings and experiences. Love to travel as a visitor rather than a tourist, to eat ethnic foods ...nothing 'weird' but lots of aromatic spices, and have mastered the art of cooking tofu... still love catfish & hush puppies too.
I do prefer a vegetarian diet,
I love my Chow Chow, birds that sing, and 'my secret place'.
Have a blessed day !
